Waldegraves’ four lakes are stocked full of top quality Carp, Bream, Roach, Rudd, Perch and Gudgeon which are guaranteed to meet the expectations of the keenest angler. Managed by a permanent fishing warden, fish and their environments are maintained to the highest standard – making our park the No1 choice for fishing holidays in Essex. Our lakes have recently been improved with new swims added! Sea fishing from our beach is also very popular with our guests. Our outdoor heated swimming pool is open May to September, weather permitting, with a separate toddler pool for the little ones to enjoy splashing in the water. You can relax in the sun on a deckchair in the garden overlooking the pool and enjoy refreshments from the poolside bar. Entry to our swimming pool is free for the holiday makers however, visitors are admitted only at the discretion of the park management and an additional charge will apply.

Our 9 Hole Crazy Golf is suitable for the whole family and the only one in our local area. Master the course and send your golf ball through the Dolphin, Octopus, and straight into the crocodile’s Mouth. Who Will Win?? Open all year round and only £4 per person.

Waldegraves has both an eighteen hole pitch and putt golf course and an undercover, 10 bay, golf driving range for those who need their daily golfing fix! Waldegraves was the first holiday park to have FootGolf in the UK, opening in 2015. FootGolf is played on a golf course using a size 5 football. The object of the game is to get the ball into the hole using only your feet in the fewest number of shots possible. FootGolf is a very ‘addictive’ sport – it combines the best of football and golf, two of the most popular sports in the world. Especially designed for you to bring your own rowing boats, inflatable boats and model boats, the Boating Lake is surrounded by picturesque trees and mown, grassy banks. It offers hours of fun for children and families who just like messing about in boats.

Water, for most craft, is deep enough approximately two hours either side of high water and is suitable for sailing dinghies, jet skis, speedboats, windsurfers, kite surfers and paddleboarders. Buoyed zones ensure that speedboats and jet skis do not stray into bathing areas. Proof of insurance must be presented & lodged with Reception on arrival, an additional charge will apply. Policies must contain a 3rd party liability limit minimum of £3,000,000. Our park is located right next to the beach so our guests can soak up the sun, explore the rock pools and build sandcastles all day long. Bathing from the beach is safe, however, we recommend that all children are supervised by an adult when playing or swimming in the sea.

Children’s outdoor play areas are available at Waldegraves. These are fully equipped with cargo netting, slides and bridges so your little ones can really enjoy a mini adventure!
Waldegraves has an all-weather, multi-purpose playing surface which offers young sports people plenty of room to practice their basketball, and football skills. Alongside the all-weather area is a grassed area which is perfect for organised team games and our 6m Activity Net provides a challenging experience for everyone! We also have a trim trail located behind the ball court.

Alongside of The Wheatsheaf there is a family games room with a full selection of gaming machines from racing cars to slot machines for light-hearted family fun. Tokens can be collected from most machines and exchanged for various prizes.

The Granary offers a superb selection of Hot and Cold meals taking advantage of the masses of quality fresh produce local to Mersea Island. Eat in the superb comfort of the Restaurant or on the decking overlooking the Swimming Pool. The Granary has a fully licensed bar with a great selection of draught & bottled beers, soft drinks for adults & children & fine wines from around the world. The menu selections include Pies, Steaks, superb fresh Fish & Chips, Aberdeen Angus Burgers and a Vegetarian and Vegan selection. Gluten Free is available upon request, please speak to your server on the day. Children are well looked after with their own menu plus a selection from the main menu in smaller portions. Fresh Homemade Daily Specials and a range of special offers to take advantage of The Granary is a must for all visitors to Waldegraves. There is also Free WiFi.

Our supermarket has an in store bakery and stocks various local produce together with a large range of grocery items, off licence, children’s play toys and souvenir gifts. No need to leave the park to get your everyday essentials. We also stock a wide selection of fishing tackle along with camping accessories and bottled gas. For your convenience, the shop is open from 8am every day.

Open every day during the peak season for all to enjoy. The Barn is friendly and relaxing, the perfect place to enjoy a quiet drink inside or out in the courtyard. Here you can find pool tables, air hockey, table tennis and darts.
The Wheatsheaf offers entertainment for all the family. Our Entertainment Manager Glen and the Teamstars have created a variety of entertainment options to ensure everyone has something to enjoy during their holiday. You’ll be able to enjoy live music, visiting acts, party bands, one-off special events, play bingo, get involved in the game shows and other in-house productions. PLUS there’s free WiFi in the club so you can stay connected! When you arrive, make sure to ask Reception for all the details about our Kids Club, Clubhouse opening times (reduced throughout non-school holidays) and what’s on during your stay.
