Our Mersea Island holiday parkDiscover the local area with a stay at our holiday park

Visitors to Mersea Island can enjoy exploring the local village and relax in one of the many eateries overlooking the harbour, known locally as Mersea Hard, or even have a go at a spot of crabbing. On the East side of the Island you will find Cudmore Grove Country Park which is home to native wildlife. Here you can also take the foot ferry across to nearby Brightlingsea and Point Clear St Osyth.

Mersea Island has a reputation for great food- and seafood in particular. And for those who like nothing more than fresh fish or oysters, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a local eatery! One of the most popular is the Company Shed, which has gained a reputation for exquisite locally caught seafood.

Our Mersea Island holiday park is only a short distance from the busy town of Colchester, which is just 9 miles away. Here you can find an almost endless supply of amenities from shops, bars and restaurants to great family attractions, including Colchester Zoo and Colchester Castle. The town is also home to First Site, a contemporary art gallery, and Beth Chatto Gardens is also nearby. Nearby there are so many other places and attractions worth a visit, from Fingringhoe Wick nature and Layer Marney Tower to the busy seaside resorts of Southend and Clacton.
