Day 1

10am: Start your day with a trip to Colchester, which is just 9 miles away. Here you can visit the fantastic Colchester Zoo, home to hundreds of rare and exotic creatures. And when you’ve finished why not head over to Colchester Castle, the largest Norman Keep in Europe! Colchester is also a great place for some shopping and lunch
2pm: After a spot of lunch head back to Mersea Island and get ready to explore! A visit to the island’s Cudmore Grove nature reserve is a must for anyone staying at Waldegraves. The whole family will love this wilderness with plenty of walks available along the coast too.
6pm: West Mersea is a great place to grab some food and, in particular, seafood. The Company Shed and West Mersea Oyster Bar are two of our favourite places to eat . If you love shellfish then you won’t be disappointed!

Day 2

10am: No holiday in Essex is complete without a visit to the legendary Tiptree Jam Factory Visitor Centre and tea room . Learn all about the history of this famous jam-making family – and enjoy a cuppa and some tasty treats too!
2pm: Head over to Beth Chatto Gardens and wander around this glorious garden paradise. The garden was rescued from an overgrown and un-cared for wasteland into the beautiful garden that it is today. Well worth a visit!
6pm: Enjoy an evening of great food and great entertainment, without leaving our holiday park! At Waldegraves you can enjoy a great range of evening entertainment on most nights throughout the peak season. From X Factor winners to top comedians, we’ve got a line-up that’s bound to please! You can also enjoy a range of fantastic dishes at the on-site Granary Restaurant. There’s even a kids club for the little ones!

Day 3:

10am: Head over to nearby West Mersea and take a morning walk along the beach. Watch the wildfowl and boats out on the water – a relaxing way to start the day
2pm: If the sun is out why not visit one of Essex’s popular beach resorts? But rather than head to Southend or Clacton why not try somewhere a little quieter? Frinton-on-Sea is one such resort that is well worth a visit on a sunny day! In the later afternoon why not head back to our holiday park and make the most of the afternoon… by enjoying our leisure facilities.
6pm: Spend the evening at one of the many top quality restaurants nearby. If you want fine dining or just great food then you really will be spoilt for choice!
