Family Holiday Park with Family values at heart

Waldegraves Holiday Park has come a long way since the days when it used to be mixed stock rearing and arable farm. It started with Jack Lord in the 1940’s who then passed it on to his son David Lord who developed the park into what you see today. 2018 marked 70 glorious years in business for Waldegraves Holiday Park! We’ve come a long way since those early days, what began as a few caravans sited along the coast in 1948 has blossomed into one of the county’s most popular destinations for touring, camping and caravan holidays.

Waldegraves is located on Mersea Island, famous for its Oysters and beautiful scenery. Tourists visit the local town of Colchester and can easily travel from London and the South East. We are offering family holidays from camping to luxury caravan breaks, activities for all the family and the choice of fun packed or tranquil locations. Families can make their holiday last a lifetime by owning their own holiday home caravan.

70 years in business

We are passionate about providing all of our customers with memorable family holidays and we strive to achieve a level of service that exceeds our customer’s expectations and identifies and develops new services and facilities. In 2013, the business earned the title of Best Campsite/Caravan Park in Essex for the third time as well as being crowned bronze winners in the Holiday Park of the Year category at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence in 2014. In 2016 Aspire presented the park with their Crystal Trophy Award for Exclusive Holiday Park of The Year. We also have become a Warner’s Group Premier Park which is awarded following an inspection, ensuring we meet the standards of excellence to be named one of their top recommended parks in the UK.

The Park once again has been awarded with a David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award 2019/20 for putting green concerns at the heart of their business for 12 consecutive years. What is more, our Park is a member of the Essex Wildlife Trust for many years now and shows continuous commitment to reducing its environmental impact and protecting the county’s ecosystems.

We are very proud of these achievements and aspire to continue to not only maintain but exceed this level of excellence to take the business forward with the help of every member of our team.
