Fishing Lakes

Our four lakes are stocked full of top quality Carp, Bream, tench, Roach, Rudd, Perch and Gudgeon which are guaranteed to meet the expectations of the keenest angler. Managed by a permanent fishing warden, fish and their environments are maintained to the highest standard. Our lakes have recently been improved with new swims added!

Sea fishing from our private beach is also very popular with our guests. Tackle and bait for both freshwater and sea angling are available from The Wheatgrain shop at Waldegraves, Mersea Island, Essex.

Golf

Waldegraves has both an eighteen hole pitch and putt golf course and an undercover, 10 bay, golf driving range for those who need their daily golfing fix! The course offers challenges to both experts and beginners alike.

Beach and Slipway

Boat access to the sea is made easy by Waldegraves' own slipway, which is suitable for hand or vehicle assisted boat launching. Water, for most craft, is deep enough approximately two hours either side of high water and is suitable for sailing dinghies, jet skis, speedboats and windsurfers. Buoyed zones ensure that speedboats and jet skis do not stray into bathing areas.

Bathing from our private beach is safe, however, we recommend that all children are supervised by an adult when playing or swimming in the sea.

Boating Lake

Especially designed for you to bring your own rowing boats, inflatable boats and model boats, the Boating Lake is surrounded by picturesque trees and mown, grassy banks. It offers hours of fun for children and families who just like messing about in boats.

Swimming Pool

The heated, open air pool is a firm favourite with all ages. Divided into a toddler and parent and a main pool, even the youngest of swimmers can enjoy the water. We always have qualified life guards on poolside duty whilst the pool is in use.

Surrounding the pool is a large, protected, sunbathing deck and a new, picturesque lawn and garden area for sun loungers. Our Granary Restaurant and snack bar are immediately adjacent to the pool and always ready to serve you a delicious meal, nibble or drink which you can consume either in the restaurant, the veranda or at the poolside.  The pool is open from mid May to mid September (weather permitting)

Playgrounds & Sports Areas

Two children's outdoor play areas are located in convenient areas around the park. these are fully equipped with cargo netting, slides and bridges so your little ones can really enjoy a mini adventure! An all weather, multi purpose playing surface offers young sports people plenty of room to practice their basketball, netball and football skills. A marked basketball court equipped with nets, means the area can be used for fun, practice or matches. Alongside the all weather area is a large, grassed area which is perfect for organised team games or a fun kick-about.

Family Arcade

A full selection of gaming machines from racing cars to slot machines for light-hearted family fun. Tokens can be collected from most machines and exchanged for various prizes.
